Union Al 99,5 Ti is an aluminium solid wire. It welds aluminium and its alloys on frames, tanks, housings and light structures.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, both by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations. It goes into transport, the food industry and structures built to resist atmospheric corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: 18273 S Al 1450 (Al99,5Ti)
- AWS classification: A5.10 / SFA-5.10 ER1450
- Shielding gas: I1, I3
Push the torch and keep the wire path in the feeder short and straight, aluminium coils up easily in the liner. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. The gas choice affects the shape of the face and the amount of spatter, so keep to the mixture given in the classification.
