Union I CrMo 910 Spezial is a low-alloyed, creep resistant solid wire. It suits welding CrMo steels in boiler, pressure vessel and petrochemical plant construction.
The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations. The deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature, on boilers, steam lines, refinery plant and parts working in the heat.
- Classification EN ISO: 21952-A G CrMo2Si
- AWS classification: A5.28 / SFA-5.28 ER90S-G [ER90S-B3(mod.)]
- Shielding gas: M1, M3, C1
Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. A change of shielding mixture changes the character of the arc, so it is worth a test piece before production.
