Union AlMg 2,7 Mn 0,8 is a TIG rod for welding aluminium and its alloys. It works on frames, tanks, housings and light structures in aluminium alloys.
Base materials include EN AW-5754, AlMg3, EN AW-5454, AlMg3Mn, AlMg2, EN AW-5251 and AlMg2Mn0. You feed the rod into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld, which suits transport, the food industry and structures exposed to weather.

Push the torch and keep the wire path in the feeder short and straight, aluminium coils up easily in the liner. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop.
