UTP 7015 is a basic coated nickel base electrode of the E Ni 6182 / ENiCrFe-3 type, intended for joining and surfacing nickel base materials. The manufacturer also recommends it for dissimilar joints, for example austenitic to ferritic steel, and for claddings on unalloyed and low alloy steels, among others in reactor construction.
The deposit has an austenitic structure, it is heat resistant and it does not turn brittle either at high or at low temperature. The arc burns steadily, the slag comes off well and the weld has a fine ripple with no notch at the toes. The preheating is matched to the base material, and post weld heat treatment can be carried out without regard for the weld metal. Welding is possible in every position except vertical-down.

Make claddings on low alloy steel in two layers if the surface is to keep the composition of the deposit, because the first one always mixes with the substrate. Choose the current at the lower limit for the diameter and run the bead without weaving, holding the arc at the leading edge of the pool. On austenitic to ferritic joints preheat the ferritic side to its own data sheet. On work under nuclear inspection keep the electrodes in a quiver and note the batch number.
