What UTP 759 Kb stick electrode is used for

UTP 759 Kb is a basic coated nickel base electrode of the E Ni 6059 / ENiCrMo-13 type. The manufacturer directs it above all to components of environmental installations and of chemical plants working in highly corrosive media. You join with it materials of similar composition, such as 2.4605 and 2.4602 (NiCr21Mo14W), and those materials to low alloy steels, and you also make claddings on low alloy steel.

The deposit stands up to contaminated oxidizing mineral acids, to acetic acid and acetic anhydride and to hot contaminated sulfuric and phosphoric acid. The resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is very high. The composition of the coating was chosen so as to limit the precipitation of intermetallic phases in the weld. The arc is stable, the slag comes off easily and work is possible in every position except vertical-down.

  • Classification EN ISO 14172: E Ni 6059 (NiCr23Mo16)
  • AWS classification A5.11 / SFA-5.11: ENiCrMo-13
  • Coating: basic
  • Current: DC+
  • Diameters: 2.5 / 3.2 / 4.0 mm
  • Lengths: 250, 300 and 350 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (nr 06687)

The corrosion resistance depends on how much iron you pick up from the substrate, so when cladding keep the current low and the beads thin, and where the client sets strict requirements plan for two layers. Hold the interpass temperature low, because long soaking in the heat encourages precipitation. Fill the crater right to the end and strike inside the groove. Before welding remove any marks left by tools used on carbon steel.
