What UTP A 34 N solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

UTP A 34 N is a copper alloy solid wire of the Cu 6338 type, CuMn13Al8Fe3Ni2. It goes on fittings, heat exchangers, bearing shells, slides and the repair of bronze parts.

The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations, it also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, and it is used in shipbuilding and vessel repair. The deposit is copper based.

  • Classification EN ISO: 24373 S Cu 6338 (CuMn13Al8Fe3Ni2)
  • AWS classification: A5.7 ER CuMnNiAl
  • Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm

Do not overheat the pool and work fast, tin bronzes lose alloying elements by evaporation. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
