WEARmig Tool 40 is a tool steel solid wire for cold and hot work tool steels, with a medium weld metal hardness of 38 to 42 HRC.
It is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, from a semiautomatic torch. The wire is used on repairs of farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machine components, and on rebuilding shafts, rollers, screws and blades.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 S Z Fe3
- AWS classification: S Z Fe3
- Shielding gas: M12, M13, M21, C1
On hard deposits expect a network of shrinkage cracks, on working overlays that is normal, but it must not reach the parent material. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Previously sold as UTP A 73 G4.
