WEARstick Dur 300 is intended for medium hard surfacings, above all on structural parts in base materials of higher strength, such as Mn-Mo alloyed wing and junction rails up to 850 N/mm2, drive wheels, gear parts and crane wheels. Previously sold as UTP DUR 300.
The classification is E 1-UM-300 to DIN 8555 and E Fe1 to EN 14700. The hardness of the pure deposit is about 300 HB, and one layer on steel with 0.5 percent carbon about 350 HB. The deposit stands up well to compression and rolling load and stays machinable. The DB approval under number 82.138.04 is useful on railway work.

On rails and crossings work in short beads of 60 to 100 mm and alternate the places you weld, so that heat does not build up in one spot. Direct current with the electrode positive gives a steadier arc when you rebuild an edge. Dry the electrodes to the maker data sheet, and keep the 6.0 mm diameter for filling large losses in the flat position.
