WEARstick Dur 600 is universally applicable for cladding on parts in steel, cast steel and high Mn steel, subject at the same time to abrasion, impact and compression. Typical fields are earth moving and stone treatment, that is excavator teeth, bucket knives, crusher jaws and cones and mill hammers, and also cutting edges on cold cutting tools. Previously sold as UTP DUR 600.
The classification is E 6-UM-60 to DIN 8555 and E Fe8 to EN 14700. The hardness of the pure deposit is 56 to 60 HRC. After soft annealing at 780 to 820 degrees C it falls to about 25 HRC, and after hardening from 1000 to 1050 degrees C in oil it returns to about 60 HRC. On high Mn steel the first layer gives about 22 HRC and the second about 40 HRC. The arc is smooth, the slag comes off easily and the deposit is machined by grinding.

Since the first layer on manganese steel comes out soft, plan at least two layers wherever full hardness has to work. Surface in parallel beads or in a chequer pattern, leaving gaps where the base is thin and distortion is a risk. Fine cross cracks in a hard deposit are normal and do not condemn the job, as long as they do not run into the parent material. Dry the electrodes to the maker data sheet.
