WEARstick Tool 35 is used, thanks to its high grade structure, for the repair, preventive maintenance and production of highly stressed cold and hot working tools, such as punching tools, cold shears for thick material, drawing, stamping and trimming tools, hot cutting tools, aluminium die cast moulds, plastic moulds and cold forging tools. Previously sold as UTP 702.
The classification is E 3-UM-350-T to DIN 8555 and E Fe5 to EN 14700. As welded the deposit has 34 to 37 HRC and machines easily, and after age hardening for 3 to 4 hours at 480 degrees C the hardness rises to 50 to 54 HRC. The maker states a smooth, regular drop transfer, a good bead appearance and easy slag removal.

Use the sequence this electrode sets: surface first, machine it soft, and only then age harden at 480 degrees C for the working hardness. Before welding heat the tool to suit the tool steel grade and hold the preheat to the end of the job. Grind cracks out down to sound material. Dry the basic electrode to the maker data sheet, moisture in the coating ends as porosity in the deposit.
