What WEARstick XD 61 stick electrode is used for

WEARstick XD 61 suits highly wear resistant claddings on parts subject to strong grinding abrasion combined with medium impact, such as conveyor screws, scraper blades, bucket teeth, mixer wings and sand pumps, and also as a final layer on crusher jaws. Previously sold as UTP Ledurit 61.

The classification is EFeCr-A8 to AWS A5.13, E Fe14 to EN 14700 and E 10-UM-60-GRZ to DIN 8555. The hardness of the pure deposit is about 60 HRC, one layer on steel with 0.15 percent carbon gives about 55 HRC, and on high Mn steel about 52 HRC. The bead comes out homogeneous and finely rippled, on most jobs without any need for grinding, and the slag comes off very easily.

  • Classification DIN 8555: E 10-UM-60-GRZ, EN 14700: E Fe14
  • AWS classification A5.13 / SFA-5.13: EFeCr-A8 (mod.)
  • Coating: rutile-basic
  • Current: AC/DC+
  • Diameters: 3.2 / 4.0 mm
  • Lengths: 350 and 450 mm
  • Hardness of deposit: 60 HRC
  • Former name: UTP Ledurit 61

This grade takes more impact than the purely rutile XD 60, so it fits scraper blades and teeth that regularly hit stone. On a large loss, rebuild the shape with a ductile electrode first and lay one or two working layers at the end. Run the beads along the direction the material flows, so that the abrasive slides over the bead crests instead of undercutting them. Finish by grinding.
