WEARstick XD 63 is used for hardfacing parts subject to heavy abrasion with moderate impact, that is cement presses, brick presses, refractory press screws, conveyor screws, mixer blades and palm nut equipment, at service temperatures up to 450 degrees C. Previously sold as UTP Abrasodur 43+.
The classification is E 10-UM-65-GR to DIN 8555 and E Z Fe 15 to EN 14700. The hardness of the first layer is 62 HRC and of the second 63 HRC. The recovery reaches 190 percent, so one electrode gives noticeably more deposit than a standard one. The drop transfer is quiet and regular, the arc stable, the slag comes off easily and welding runs in the flat and vertical up positions.
- Classification DIN 8555: E 10-UM-65-GR, EN 14700: E Z Fe 15
- Coating: basic
- Current: AC/DC+
- Diameters: 3.2 / 4.0 / 5.0 mm
- Lengths: 350 and 450 mm
- Former name: UTP Abrasodur 43+
A recovery of 190 percent changes the time calculation, but it also puts heat in faster, so take cooling breaks on thin screws. The hard deposit is machined by grinding only, so plan the deposit thickness close to the final size. If the part working up to 450 degrees C also takes impact, add a buffer layer. Dry the electrodes as the maker specifies.
