WEARtig Co 6 is a cobalt alloy TIG rod for hardfacing, with excellent resistance to metal to metal wear, cavitation and impact in corrosive environments. The hardness is approximately 42 HRC.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld. The rod is meant for hardfacing and for building up working faces, and it rebuilds shafts, rollers, screws and blades. Previously sold as UTP A CELSIT 706 V.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 R Z Co2
- AWS classification: A 5.21 ER CoCr-A
- Shielding gas: I1
Lay the overlay in overlapping beads and watch the part temperature, an overheated component will distort and crack where the layers meet. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance.
