WEARtig Tool 58 is a TIG rod for cold and hot work tool steels, with a high weld metal hardness of 53 to 58 HRC.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld, which suits deposits that need a smooth face. The rod rebuilds shafts, rollers, screws, blades and surfaces working under abrasion. Previously sold as UTP A 673.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 S Fe8
- AWS classification: S Fe8
- Shielding gas: I1
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off.
