We have split the range into four sections: Welding helmets, Welding gloves, Welding clothing and Respiratory protection. Wear parts for helmets, that is lenses, polycarbonates, ADF filters and headgear, are in Consumables under Welding helmet parts.
With a helmet look at four things. First the optical class to EN 379, four digits such as 1/1/1/1: image quality, light diffusion, uniformity and angular dependence. The lower the digits the better. Second the switching time, under 0.1 milliseconds in good filters. Third the shade range: DIN 9 to 10 for TIG at low currents, DIN 11 to 12 for MIG/MAG at 200 A, DIN 12 to 13 for plasma and currents above 300 A. Fourth the number of arc sensors, two for work straight ahead, four for positional welding.
Select clothing to EN ISO 11611, class 1 for light welding and class 2 for heavy spatter. TIG gloves should be thin goatskin, MIG and MMA gloves thicker lined cowhide sewn with Kevlar thread.
Respiratory protection starts with extraction at source, and a mask is an addition. A P3 filter is enough for welding fume, painted surfaces need A2P3. For full day work and with facial hair the only effective answer is a helmet with powered air, because only positive pressure keeps the seal.
